Hutchison Ports BEST, operator of a major container terminal at the Port of Barcelona, has commissioned the TIN (Terminal Intermodal de Navarra) multimodal complex following the completion of a modernization program. The terminal is located in the province of Navarre in northern Spain, near the border with France, and serves cargo flows from northern Spain and southern France.
A 15-year concession agreement for the facility’s management was signed in September 2024 with the national rail infrastructure operator Adif. The modernization investment amounted to approximately €10 million: the terminal’s surface area was increased to 42,000 m², two 550-meter tracks were built, and diesel handling equipment was replaced with electric ones.
The TIN upgrade now gives regional exporters and importers direct and efficient access to the Port of Barcelona, which is connected to more than 200 ports worldwide. The project was implemented with co-financing from the European fund NextGenerationEU and aims to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly logistics solutions.
