A Kazakh company, part of Railways Systems KZ and the Kazakhstan Union of Mechanical Engineers, plans to begin supplying railway wheels to Europe. The company is currently undergoing certification for Deutsche Bahn, which could take 2-3 years and includes operational testing according to EU standards.
Exports are planned via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route through the ports of Aktau and Baku, allowing products to be delivered to Europe without going through Russia.
The Kazakhstan Union of Mechanical Engineers notes that the entry of domestic manufacturers into new foreign markets strengthens the position of the national mechanical engineering industry and increases the country’s export potential.
