Kazakhstan and Estonia are strengthening railway cooperation and transit via the Trans-Caucasian Transport Route.

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, held a working meeting with Kaido Zimmermann, Head of Estonian Railways, during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics. The focus was on integrating railway networks to more efficiently organize freight flows between Central Asia and European markets.

Last year, rail transport between Kazakhstan and Estonia demonstrated significant growth: volume reached 382,400 tons, an increase of 2.1 times. Exports totaled 313,700 tons, an increase of 2.6 times, while imports increased by 30.2% to 29,700 tons. Participants in the negotiations noted that this positive trend confirms the potential for further expansion of cooperation and the development of new logistics solutions.

Particular emphasis was placed on leveraging the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and integrating Estonian port infrastructure into international supply chains. The parties emphasized that integrating port facilities and creating efficient transit systems will increase shipping volumes, enhance the competitiveness of logistics services, and provide additional benefits for Kazakhstani exporters and international transit companies.
