Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport, Talgat Lastayev, held talks with Iranian Ambassador Ali Akbar Jowkar, where the two sides discussed key areas of cooperation in transport and logistics. The central topic was the prospects for developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR), which strengthens the two countries’ role as strategic transit hubs in Eurasia.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation between the ports of Astara and Aktau. The parties believe that harnessing their potential will help increase trade turnover and maritime shipping volumes.
Following the meeting, Kazakhstan and Iran confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and agreed to develop practical steps to further strengthen their partnership in transport and logistics.
