A Kazakh delegation participated in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and Connectivity Investor Forum, which brought together EU Commissioners, representatives of leading European financial institutions, and transport ministers from countries along the Middle Corridor. A separate meeting of heads of transport agencies from Central Asia, the EU, the South Caucasus, and the Black Sea region was also held on the sidelines of the event.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Transport, Nurlan Sauranbayev, presented a report at the panel session, highlighting positive developments in cooperation within the European Global Gateway initiative. He emphasized the need to establish an institutional framework for the development of the Trans-Caspian route, proposing the preparation of an intergovernmental agreement on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which would strengthen coordination and simplify processes between participating countries.
Following the forum, participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding partnership and accelerating the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor, which is seen as a key element of transport connectivity between Europe and Asia.
