Kazakhstan opens its skies: new international flights from Kazakhstani airlines starting in May.

Since May 2025, Kazakhstan is expanding its flight geography: the country’s airlines are launching new routes to ten countries, including Germany, Hungary, China, Korea, Turkey, Vietnam and others. The basis for international expansion is formed by carriers SCAT, Air Astana and Fly Arystan, as well as foreign partners. The main growth point was Shymkent Airport, from where SCAT will open flights to Budapest, Munich, Shanghai and Seoul twice a week.

Air Astana will launch flights from Astana to Da Nang (Vietnam), from Atyrau to Tbilisi and Baku, as well as from Almaty to Osh. Fly Arystan will add flights from Almaty to Gulja and from Astana to Gazipasha. In addition, Uzbekistan’s My Freighter (Centrum Air) has already opened flights between Almaty and Tashkent, and Azerbaijan Airlines will increase the frequency of Astana-Baku flights.

Active development of international routes is in line with Kazakhstan’s strategy to improve transport accessibility and strengthen ties with neighboring countries and major international centers. The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to work on expanding routes, turning the country into an important aviation hub in Central Asia.
