LDZ CARGO absorbs two LDz subsidiaries under structural reorganisation.

As part of the process, LDz ritošā sastāva serviss and LDz Loģistika have been merged into LDZ CARGO.

On 3 October 2025, the Register of Enterprises approved the reorganisation of three subsidiaries of Latvian state railway company SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš (LDz).

The decision finalises a consolidation initiative announced earlier this year, aimed at simplifying the group’s corporate structure and reducing operational costs. LDZ CARGO, previously focused on domestic and international freight transport, will now also be responsible for rolling stock repair, modernisation, maintenance, refuelling, and freight forwarding services.

The restructured entity will continue to operate under the LDZ CARGO name. All employees from the merged companies are being integrated into the new structure, with internal alignment of systems and processes still underway. The Management Board and Supervisory Council of LDZ CARGO remain unchanged.

This consolidation follows earlier restructuring steps within the LDz Group, prompted by a drop in freight volumes and broader shifts in the regional logistics market. The aim is to increase operational efficiency and expand LDZ CARGO’s position in both the Baltic region and broader European transport markets.
