Liège Airport has shown outstanding results in 2024, handling almost 1.2 million tonnes of cargo. This is 16% more than in 2023, when the volume was just over 1 million tonnes. The number of air operations also increased: 37,029 flights compared to 33,652 the previous year. Most of the traffic was carried out by cargo aircraft.
December confirmed the overall upward trend in volumes, making 2024 the second most successful year in the airport’s history. This is the fifth year in a row that volumes have exceeded the 1 million tonne mark.
Liège Airport has been actively developing its logistics capabilities in 2024. Key events include the acquisition of a stake in LLI (Novandi Group), which operates the rail freight terminal next to the airport, and the opening of the new 6,000 m² office building “L’Escale”. These steps underline the airport’s strategy to strengthen its position as a multimodal logistics hub.
