LTG Cargo transported record volumes of grain in August.

Rail operator LTG Cargo (part of the LTG Group) set a new record by transporting 560,000 tons of 2025 grain in August. Despite the late start of the season, the volume of transportation was 22% higher than last year. To ensure logistics, the company prepared about 1,600 wagons – a third more than a year earlier, including 500 new high-capacity grain trucks.

According to Eglė Šimė, CEO of LTG Cargo, the expansion of the fleet made it possible to promptly deliver large batches of agricultural products, maintaining their quality and ensuring timely sowing. In total, by the end of the year, the company plans to transport about 3.3 million tons of grain crops, including rye, wheat, barley and rapeseed. In 2024, grain accounted for about 16% of all cargo transported by rail.

In addition to grain carriers, LTG Cargo has invested in 200 new gondola cars for the transportation of crushed stone and other bulk materials, which will allow for the additional transportation of up to 700,000 tons of cargo for infrastructure projects, including Rail Baltica. The company is also actively developing its business in Europe, offering comprehensive transport and logistics solutions, and its subsidiaries operate in Poland and Ukraine.
