Rhenus signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kyrgyz Railways.

Rhenus Group has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the national railway company Kyrgyz Temir Zholu. The document was signed during the German-Kyrgyz Economic Forum in Cholpon-Ata and is aimed at developing freight transport and logistics in Central Asia. The main focus is on strengthening the transit role of Kyrgyzstan, creating logistics centers and attracting new freight flows.

The parties agreed to work together to develop multimodal solutions, optimize international routes and create favorable conditions for the growth of transit, export and import transportation. Rhenus plans to contribute its experience in the field of terminal infrastructure, railway logistics and multimodal transportation, as well as provide consulting and analytical support, personnel training and knowledge sharing.

The agreement coincided with the active phase of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway line, which will become part of the Trans-Caspian international transport route. This project will shorten the route between China and Europe by hundreds of kilometers and strengthen the region’s integration into global trade chains. According to Rhenus representative Heinrich Kerschgens, the company views cooperation as a strategic step along the Trans-Caspian corridor and intends to support the creation of a modern logistics infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan.
