Temirzhol Zhondeu LLC is actively implementing a large-scale project to upgrade the Altynkol-Zhetygen railway line. Currently, the roadbed is almost completely completed, 67 switches, and over 30 kilometers of track and sleeper grid have been laid. The project is being implemented according to the approved schedule, with a phased organization of work and the concentration of resources on key sections.
In 2025-2026, the company will build 32 kilometers of second tracks, five new sidings, and develop eight stations, including expanding the marshalling infrastructure at Altynkol station. Preparations for the construction of the second tracks have already been completed: engineering surveys are underway, production capacity is being allocated between stations and sidings, and work is simultaneously underway on power, signaling, communications, and the construction of artificial structures.
Of the projected volume of 1,086,583 cubic meters, over 1.06 million cubic meters of roadbed have already been filled, some ballasting has been completed, and a significant portion of the track and switches have been laid. The total length of the Zhetygen – Altynkol line is 293 kilometers, and after completion of the modernization, its capacity will increase from 18 to 30 pairs of trains. This will speed up freight transportation and significantly enhance Kazakhstan’s transit potential.
