Ukrzaliznytsia and Polish State Railways have agreed to develop intermodal routes between Asia and Europe. During the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition in Berlin, representatives of both countries discussed increasing the capacity of border crossings and expanding railway infrastructure to improve freight transport.
Despite the war, Ukraine remains an important transport hub on the route between China and the EU. Joint work to restore Eurasian logistics corridors will help increase the efficiency of freight flows across the Ukrainian-Polish border and ensure the development of intermodal transport.
According to the management of both railway companies, strengthening the partnership will facilitate the development of new routes, container terminals and improve the transit potential of the region, especially on the key China-Europe route through Central Asia.
