SBB Cargo International has transferred production for Novatrans on the Noisy-le-Sec–Novara corridor to its subsidiary SBB Cargo France.
The change gives SBB Cargo International end-to-end responsibility for the traffic on this route section. Train control for the French part of the corridor is now handled from the company’s central control centre in Olten, Switzerland.
The new setup required specific training for dispatchers in Olten. SBB Cargo International has also introduced its Alstom Traxx locomotive on the corridor to support production between France and Italy.
The Noisy-le-Sec–Novara route is part of the company’s international intermodal production network. Novatrans uses the service for traffic moving between France and northern Italy, with Novara serving as one of the main rail freight gateways to the Italian market.
