The first joint service by PSA and PIL to reduce supply chain CO₂ emissions has been launched in Singapore.

PSA International and Pacific International Lines, supported by DNV, have launched Singapore’s first joint land-and-sea “green” value-added service for cargo passing through the Port of Singapore. The solution aims to reduce Scope 3 emissions and provides cargo owners with a practical tool for decarbonizing their supply chains.

The new service enables participants to achieve verified emissions reductions by allocating carbon savings generated through the use of greener fuels across various stages of transport – from port operations to maritime and land-based logistics. The project’s initial pilot trials are scheduled to commence as early as May, marking the start of testing for a new model of end-to-end logistics decarbonization.

For shippers and cargo owners, the solution establishes a transparent and verifiable mechanism for tracking emissions reductions throughout the entire supply chain. This facilitates the systematic reduction of carbon footprints and supports the transition toward more sustainable logistics and transport models, including the development of environmentally focused value chains.
