The Port of Koper has announced the launch of “PHOENIX,” a new direct container service operated by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company. The *MSC AGAMEMNON VIII* was the first vessel to call at the port on this new route, making its maiden call on May 31, 2026.
Initially, the service will operate on a fortnightly basis, connecting Koper with ports in the Far East, the Mediterranean, and the Adriatic region. Following the launch phase, the service will transition to a weekly schedule, ensuring more stable and frequent container shipping operations.
The port notes that the launch of PHOENIX significantly strengthens Koper’s transport links with Asian markets and expands opportunities for international trade. This new route marks the fourth direct container service connecting the Port of Koper with Asia, underscoring the port’s growing role in global logistics chains.
