In April 2026, Ukraine’s seaports handled 8.2 million tons of cargo, a 35.8% increase over the figure for the same period last year. This growth in transshipment volumes was recorded despite intensified attacks on the country’s port and logistics infrastructure.

According to industry sources, more than 500 drone attacks targeting logistics infrastructure facilities were recorded in April alone. Port facilities came under fire almost every other day; nevertheless, Ukrainian ports maintained stable operations and ensured the fulfillment of foreign trade contracts, even amidst constant security threats.

For the period spanning January through April 2026, the total transshipment volume at Ukraine’s seaports reached 29.5 million tons, surpassing the figures for the corresponding period in 2025. As is traditional, grain crops accounted for the largest share of cargo traffic: over the four-month period, 16 million tons of grain were transshipped through the ports – a 7% increase compared to the previous year.
