DFDS and Volvo Trucks are switching container transport to night mode for the sake of ecology and efficiency.
From October 2024, DFDS and Volvo Trucks will implement a joint project to switch container transport between Volvo’s logistics center in Ghent and the sea terminals of the port of Antwerp to a night schedule. The use of heavy electric trucks allows for emission-free trips during off-peak hours, relieving the transport network and increasing the efficiency of the entire supply chain.
