The new TransFER Salzburg–Augsburg railway line, launched by ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG), connects Austria with southern Germany and creates a key connection for the entire Central and South-Eastern region of Europe.
Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov discussed the expansion of cooperation in the transport sector. In July 2024, contractor Rizzani de Eccher began a new stage of construction of the Rail Baltica bridge over the Neris River near Jonava, delivering steel sheet piles to the site. These works will create a temporary protective perimeter, which will allow for the safe installation of the bridge supports. Once the work is completed, the perimeter will be dismantled.
The CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) agreed to develop a plan of joint activities for the development of transport corridors until 2030. Ukraine signed a Memorandum with the European Railway Agency (ERA) aimed at integrating the Ukrainian railway system into the European space. The agreement provides for close cooperation in matters of technical harmonization of the railway systems of Ukraine and the EU, as well as expert and technical support for adaptation to European standards.
During the Hong Kong – Kazakhstan briefing, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “KAZLOGISTICS” and the Hong Kong Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (HAFFA). The cooperation is aimed at developing bilateral export-import and transit transportation, increasing the coordination of logistics operations, reducing the time and cost of transportation, and improving the quality of services provided.
The construction of the second track of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway line is nearing completion: 60% of the work has been completed so far. The project involves more than 1,000 people and 500 pieces of equipment. The work is being carried out under the supervision of Zhangeldy Asmiev, who is responsible for laying the road between Koktuma and Zhaipak.

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is expanding its TransNET network with a multimodal connection to Serbia. The new TransFER route directly connects the economic hubs of Western and Central Europe with the Western Balkans.
Ukrainian ports handled 60 million tons of cargo in the first seven months of 2024. This is almost twice as much as in the same period in 2023, when the transshipment volume was 34.4 million tons.
