Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has announced the expansion of infrastructure for handling Airbus aviation components at the Container Terminal Tollerort (CTT) in the Port of Hamburg. New storage areas were officially opened during a joint ceremony attended by the shipping company COSCO SHIPPING and Airbus. This expansion will enable a further increase in the volume of aviation parts exported from Hamburg to China.

The Lithuanian railway group LTG has announced the start of production of high-speed, 1435 mm European-gauge railway switches for the Rail Baltica project at a facility in the Vilnius district. Manufacturing is being carried out by voestalpine Railway Systems Lithuania, a company in which LTG Group holds a 34% stake. The first systems are scheduled for delivery this autumn to the most advanced construction section – the Šveicarija–Žeimiai stretch in the Jonava district – where approximately 8.8 km of European-gauge track has already been laid.

The state-owned railway company Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (LTG) has released a study on the architecture of the country’s railway network, outlining key development directions through 2050. According to the document, major projects will include the construction of a high-speed line between Kaunas and Klaipėda, as well as the creation of new rail connections to Palanga, Alytus, and Druskininkai. The company believes that modernizing the infrastructure will significantly boost domestic mobility and strengthen international transport links.

German container logistics operator Contargo has announced the public release of its proprietary software solution, containerLib, which is now available to market participants free of charge via the Open Logistics Foundation repository. The company stated that this move aims to accelerate industry digitalization and foster collaboration among logistics operators. The Java-based library is designed for the standardized processing of container numbers and truck license plates.

British logistics operator Europa Road has highlighted significant shifts in the European transport sector driven by new EU regulations for vans. Starting in July 2026, all vehicles weighing between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes engaged in international transport or cabotage within the EU must be equipped with modern tachographs. These devices will automatically record driving time, speed, distance traveled, and driver activity.

Laude continues to rapidly expand its operations across Central and Western Europe as part of its ambitious “Time for Revolution” project. Under this initiative, the carrier has acquired 40 new tandem container wagons, which will serve to upgrade and strengthen its logistics fleet.

The agreement covers the design, construction and future operating framework for the terminal. SICAN will prepare the project and contract the works, with Adif involved in coordination.

The Bertling Group – active in shipping, chartering, transport logistics, and IT for over 160 years, with headquarters in Hamburg and a network of 50 offices across 30 countries – has announced the acquisition of the logistics company Pfaff International GmbH, based in Baienfurt (Upper Swabia). The deal, announced on June 15, 2026, aims to strengthen Bertling’s position in Europe and expand its network within Germany.

The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has opened an upgraded container terminal in Přerov–Horní Moštěnice, effectively doubling the facility’s footprint. The modernization project expanded the site by approximately 17,100 m² to a total area of ​​around 36,000 m², thereby eliminating bottlenecks and enhancing cargo handling efficiency.
