An innovative multifunctional boat for port operations has been created in Riga.

Latvian engineering companies SIA “Belss” and SIA “Anytec Productions,” specializing in the production of premium aluminum vessels in Bolderaja (Port of Riga), have developed the country’s first multifunctional port infrastructure servicing boat. The vessel has already entered service at the Port of Salacgriva, marking a significant step in the development of Latvian shipbuilding and confirming that Riga can build modern, technologically sophisticated vessels that are competitive in the global market.

Администрация морских портов Украины (АМПУ) и Балтийская организация портов (БОП) подписали меморандум о стратегическом партнерстве, направленный на развитие сотрудничества, обмен опытом и реализацию совместных инициатив в портовой отрасли. Документ подписали представитель АМПУ Виталий Вайдич и генеральный секретарь БОП Богдан Олдаковский в ходе Конференции Балтийских портов в Гданьске.

Poland is investing over €57 million in infrastructure development on the border with Ukraine.

The Polish government will allocate over €57.7 million to develop road and rail infrastructure in the border regions with Ukraine. The funds are being allocated under the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program, according to the Polish Ministry of Foundations and Regional Policy. Of this, €52.5 million is earmarked for improving transport links, and another €5.1 million will support small economic projects.

Construction of a modern intermodal terminal has begun at the port of Gdynia.

Construction has begun on a modern intermodal terminal at the Port of Gdynia’s logistics center, costing 75 million zlotys (approximately $20 million), with $35 million financed by the European Union. The project includes the construction of 2.73 kilometers of railway tracks, 30,000 square meters of shunting yards, and a permanent cargo handling ramp.

Track laying has begun on the Rail Baltica section in the Jonava region of Lithuania.

Track laying work has begun on the Rail Baltica section near Jonava in Lithuania—a crucial stage in the construction of the European gauge (1435 mm). Completion of the 8.8 km of track between the towns of Shvejci and Žeimiai is scheduled for the end of the year. LTG Infra has already purchased 86,200 tons of ballast, 29,500 reinforced concrete sleepers, and 42 km of rails for the project, which will be laid using modern technologies.

CargoBeamer launches new rail route between the Netherlands and Romania.

CargoBeamer, a leading European rail freight company, has expanded its network by launching a new intermodal route between Venlo (Netherlands) and Oradea (Romania). Beginning in late September 2025, this route will operate six round trips per week, with a travel time of approximately 60 hours. Trains depart daily from the Cabooter terminal in Venlo from Sunday to Friday and from the intermodal terminal in Oradea from Friday to Wednesday. The service accommodates both overhead and non-overhead semi-trailers, refrigerated trucks, tankers, ADR cargo, containers, and swap bodies.
