KTZ Express and Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express have inked a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly organize and dispatch container trains through Kazakhstan, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM). The agreement was signed in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, during a meeting between Erlan Koyshebayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Logistics at NC KTZ, and the leadership of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transportation and the major state trading group, Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group.

Тенденции трансформации в немецких контейнерных перевозках

Федеральное ведомство логистики и мобильности Германии (BALM) недавно опубликовало комплексный анализ, проливающий свет на тенденции трансформации в сфере контейнерных перевозок водным и железнодорожным транспортом в Германии. В частности, железнодорожные контейнерные перевозки в стране продемонстрировали впечатляющий рост на 85,91 тонны в год, увеличившись с чуть менее 4,2 млн TEU до примерно 7,7 млн TEU за период с 2005 по 2022 год. Движущей силой этого роста является позитивная динамика во внутренних районах порта Гамбург, демонстрирующая значительное увеличение доли железнодорожных грузоперевозок.

The event gathered a distinguished assembly of guests, including ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä, János Kerékgyártó (Deputy State Secretary for Transport Regulation in Hungary), László Mosóczi (CEO of MÁV-START), Zoltán Pafféri (CEO of MÁV Zrt), and numerous high-ranking executives from various railway enterprises and logistics providers. ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is enhancing its TransFER service connecting the Czech Republic and the Baltic Sea, delivering substantial benefits to customers through shortened transit times and enhanced efficiency, all achieved with 100% RCG performance. The non-stop TransFER route between Paskov and Gdansk stands out as the sole direct link from Moravia and Northern Slovakia to the critical Baltic Sea port of Gdansk. Positioned as a pivotal transshipment hub in Central Europe, the Paskov site serves as a strategic base for RCG to efficiently distribute maritime goods flows (FCL – Full Container Loads) to destinations in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

PSA Sines enhances port operations with cutting-edge automation

On February 29, 2024, PSA Sines, the terminal operator in Portugal, marked a significant leap into full automation with the introduction of six state-of-the-art, fully automated Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes (aRTGs). This addition to the existing fleet of twenty-nine yard cranes is a pivotal move for PSA Sines, poised to enhance operational efficiency, elevate safety standards, and advance the terminal’s ambitious sustainability targets. Set to be operational by the end of the second quarter of 2024, the new aRTGs will undergo thorough on-site testing and commissioning in the coming weeks as part of Stage One in PSA Sines’s Phase III expansion project.
