A working meeting between Acting Chairman of the Board Aibek Kapar and a delegation from China Railway Container Transport, led by Chairman of the Board of Directors Yang Bin, was held at the KTZ Express office. The parties discussed the current status and development prospects of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, focusing on improving the efficiency of logistics processes and eliminating infrastructure constraints.

China’s largest indigenously designed LNG tanker, Celsius Georgetown, built for the Danish company Celsius Group, departed Nantong for Singapore following its official delivery at a shipyard in Jiangsu Province. With a capacity of 180,000 cubic meters, the LNG carrier is one of the largest vessels of its type built in the country.

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC NC KTZ, met with Ho Ang Gia Khanh, CEO of Vietnam Railways. During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the railway sector and increasing freight traffic volumes between the two countries.

The Italy–Kazakhstan Supply Chain Forum 2026 was held in Astana, featuring a panel session dedicated to the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor). Representatives from the Kazakh Ministry of Transport, government agencies, international organizations, and Italian and international businesses participated in the event. The parties discussed key issues related to strengthening Kazakhstan’s role as a Eurasian transport and logistics hub, connecting Europe and Asia and facilitating the growth of transit and export flows.

On April 24, 2026, the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan held parliamentary hearings on “Development of Kazakhstan’s Transit Potential.” Kanat Almagambetov, General Director of the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “KAZLOGISTICS,” presented a comprehensive report outlining the systemic limitations of the country’s transport and logistics sector and proposing specific measures to address them. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, JSC NC KazAvtoZhol, and other stakeholders also participated in the event.

A working meeting was held in Astana between the management of the investment company PNP Investment Management S.a.r.l. and Yerlan Koyshibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, to discuss investment prospects in Kazakhstan’s transport and logistics sector. The European company expressed interest in developing infrastructure and logistics projects in the country, given Kazakhstan’s growing role as a key transit hub in Eurasia.

The international logistics platform ATI.SU notes a significant decline in the number of export-import shipment requests from Kazakhstan for the first quarter of 2026, amid continued growth in demand for domestic freight delivery. The analysis is based on the platform’s proprietary data and reflects ongoing changes in the structure of the country’s logistics market.

In Astana, as part of the anniversary events of the Organization for Cooperation between Railways, a meeting was held between Marat Shakenov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, and the management of Qiqihar CRRC, led by Feng Zhendong. The parties emphasized that the partnership between the companies has been developing for over 20 years, and a new stage of strategic cooperation began in October 2023 with the signing of a framework agreement in Beijing.

According to the results of January–March 2026, the transport sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan demonstrated stable positive dynamics. The physical volume index amounted to 112.8%, and the volume of services rendered increased to 2.9 trillion tenge, compared to 2.4 trillion tenge for the same period last year. During this period, 239.8 million tons of freight were transported within the country, an 8% increase year-on-year, while passenger traffic increased by 9.3%, reaching 483.7 million passengers.

The talks were held as part of the anniversary events of the Organisation for Cooperation between Railways and focused on developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening ties within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
