MEDLOG and CMLOG open the largest joint cold warehouse in China.

On March 11, 2026, MEDLOG, part of the MSC Group, and China Master Logistics (CMLOG), a Chinese logistics company, announced the launch of a new joint venture with a network of five cold storage facilities in Shanghai, Tianqing, and Ningbo. The new facility is the third and largest in the joint network of cold storage facilities, supporting MEDLOG’s strategic expansion in the cold chain segment along China’s coastline and growing demand for imported frozen and perishable goods.

KTZ and Huawei are strengthening cooperation in the development of smart railways.

KTZ, Azerbaijani and Georgian railways discussed the development of the Middle Corridor.

The heads of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, CJSC Azerbaijan Railways, and JSC Georgian Railways held a working meeting on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The parties discussed measures to improve the corridor’s competitiveness, eliminate infrastructure bottlenecks, and upgrade rolling stock. By the end of 2025, traffic volume along the route had increased by 15% to 42,000 TEUs, with special attention paid to digitalization and the integration of information systems to expedite freight transit.

Kazakhstan’s transport sector increased its traffic volume by 11.9% in early 2026.

In January–February 2026, Kazakhstan’s transport sector demonstrated growth. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, the physical volume index of services in the “Transport and Warehousing” sector was 110.7% compared to the same period in 2025. In January, this figure reached 105.1%, and in February, 110.7%, indicating a gradual recovery and strengthening of business activity in the sector.

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan is overseeing the implementation of the Bakhty-Ayagoz railway project.

During a working visit to the Abay region, Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport Zhanibek Taizhanov held a meeting on the implementation of the Bakhty-Ayagoz railway project. The meeting was also attended by the region’s Deputy Akim, Serik Tulenbergenov, representatives of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, the Samruk-Kazyna Fund, the general contractor, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., and the design organization. The parties discussed the current construction progress and coordination among all project participants.

The volume of transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route has increased fivefold in seven years.

Over the past seven years, shipments along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) have increased nearly fivefold, from 0.8 million tons to 4.5 million tons per year. According to the relevant department, this growth trend became particularly noticeable after 2022: while shipment volumes in 2019 were 759,000 tons, in 2020 – 783,000 tons, in 2021 – 586,000 tons, in 2022 the figure rose to 1.485 million tons, in 2023 – to 2.764 million tons, and in 2024 – to 4.484 million tons. By the end of 2025, 4.119 million tons of cargo had been transported along the route.

KTZ is introducing a transportation planning system to combat duplicate requests.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy is implementing an automated rail transportation planning system that will eliminate duplicate requests from shippers and the inflated declared volumes. According to the company, more than 30 rolling stock owners have already signed up for the new system. Transportation requests will now be accepted only with confirmation from railcar operators and actual consignees, which should improve planning transparency and the efficiency of infrastructure use.

Zhanibek Taizhanov, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, participated in the international Mobile World Congress exhibition in Barcelona. During the event, the Kazakh delegation met with representatives of Huawei, where they presented modern technological solutions for the intellectualization of telecommunications infrastructure, the development of 5G networks, and preparation for the implementation of 6G technologies.
