KTZ and DBA Group are launching a pilot project to implement a terminal management system at Almaty-1.

Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ), held a working meeting with representatives of the Italian holding company DBA Group. QazCloud LLP and JSC “Kedentransservice” also participated in the discussions. The main topic was the launch of a pilot project to implement an innovative Terminal Operating System (TOS) aimed at digitalizing and enhancing the efficiency of KTZ’s freight infrastructure.

The parties reviewed the project’s current status and technical aspects regarding the integration of DBA Group’s software, which is slated for deployment on the cloud infrastructure of the Kazakhstani operator QazCloud. The key Almaty-1 terminal was selected as the pilot site to test the new IT solution for automating operations and optimizing the freight hub’s workflow.

Following the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to launch the system’s pilot operation. Successful testing is expected to enable the scaling of the TOS to other terminals across the KTZ network and boost the level of digitalization in Kazakhstan’s rail logistics. KTZ notes that implementing such solutions represents a significant step toward modernizing terminal infrastructure and developing intelligent transport management systems.
