Kazakhstan Railways: On Course for Modernization and Growth.

The railway industry remains a key element of the global transportation system, and for Kazakhstan, this sector is of particular importance. Despite significant track deterioration in recent years, the government has adopted a large-scale program to modernize and build over 5,000 kilometers of tracks, repair another 11,000 kilometers, and expand the network by 2029. The country’s unique geographic location in the center of Eurasia offers significant prospects for transit and the transformation of railway infrastructure into a driver of economic growth.

Kazakhstan and Iran discussed the development of transport cooperation.

Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Transport, Talgat Lastayev, held talks with Iranian Ambassador Ali Akbar Jowkar, where the two sides discussed key areas of cooperation in transport and logistics. The central topic was the prospects for developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TCITR), which strengthens the two countries’ role as strategic transit hubs in Eurasia.

ONE устанавливает мировой рекорд по загрузке контейнеровоза.

Судоходная компания Ocean Network Express (ONE) объявила о новом мировом рекорде: её флагманский контейнеровоз ONE Innovation загрузил 22 233 TEU в порту Сингапура — это самый большой объём контейнеров, когда-либо перевезённых одним судном. Судно отправилось в рейс Азия-Европа (FE4) в британский порт Феликстоу с последующим заходом в Роттердам.

KTZ Express доставила первую партию казахстанской муки в США.

Компания KTZ Express организовала первую контейнерную отправку пшеничной муки из Казахстана в США. Продукция из Костаная успешно прибыла в Нью-Йорк и стала частью пилотного проекта по выводу казахстанской муки под брендом «Eurasian Legacy» на американский рынок, где она уже представлена на Amazon и в розничных сетях.

WEC Lines launches new weekly service between Spain, Ireland and the UK.

On September 27, Dutch shipping company WEC Lines will launch its NWC Spain service, adding a second vessel to the line. The new route will offer weekly departures from Bilbao and Gijón to Liverpool and Dublin, offering a fast and reliable alternative to road transport from Spain to the UK and Ireland. Departures from Bilbao will be on Fridays, arrivals in Liverpool on Mondays, and arrivals in Dublin on Wednesdays.

Ukrzaliznytsia and PKP PLK have agreed to develop rail service across the border.

At the TRAKO-2025 railway exhibition in Gdansk, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC and the Polish operator PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe signed a framework cooperation agreement. The document provides for joint actions to ensure uninterrupted and safe train traffic across the Polish-Ukrainian border, as well as the development and maintenance of railway infrastructure.

KTZ and Wabtec signed the largest contract in the history of locomotive construction in Kazakhstan.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the American company Wabtec signed an agreement for the supply of new TE33AT series locomotives, whose production will be localized in Astana at the Lokomotiv Kurastyru Zauyty plant. The total contract value reached USD 4.2 billion, making this the largest deal in the history of locomotive manufacturing in Kazakhstan.

DHL Express has opened a new international hub at Barcelona Airport.

DHL Express officially opened its new international hub at Barcelona-El Prat Airport. The €80 million project, completed in less than two years, is the company’s largest investment in the region. The new facility can handle over 20,000 shipments per hour—seven times its previous capacity—and will accommodate the growing volume of international express deliveries and strengthen Barcelona’s position in DHL’s global network.

German ports are launching a digital Secure Release Order system.

Starting October 1, German seaports will begin a digital procedure for releasing imported containers through the German Ports IT platform, called Secure Release Order (SRO). The solution, developed by DAKOSY AG and dbh Logistics IT AG, will eliminate the need for traditional PIN code transmission and make the process more secure. The new system is being introduced in stages to reduce risks and give all market participants time to adapt.
