CMA CGM is acquiring FedEx Supply Chain for $1.4 billion to expand the logistics business of CEVA Logistics.

The French group CMA CGM has signed an agreement to acquire the logistics division FedEx Supply Chain for $1.4 billion. This deal marks a major step in the company’s expansion into logistics and will nearly triple the scale of the US operations of CEVA Logistics, CMA CGM’s logistics subsidiary. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined entity will manage a portfolio of approximately 150 warehouses and distribution centers.

FedEx Supply Chain is the logistics arm of the US-based FedEx Corp. The company was formed from GENCO ATC, which FedEx had acquired in 2015 – also for $1.4 billion. For CMA CGM, this purchase continues a logistics expansion strategy that began with the acquisition of CEVA Logistics in 2018–2019 for approximately $1.7 billion. The company subsequently strengthened its market position through deals with GEFCO in 2022 and Bolloré Logistics in 2024, propelling CEVA Logistics into the ranks of the world’s top five logistics operators.

Developing the logistics business has become a cornerstone of CMA CGM’s strategy. By the end of 2025, logistics accounted for over 31% of the group’s revenue – up from 2.5% in 2019 – and the division generated approximately 16% of the group’s total EBITDA. The company expects the acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain to strengthen CEVA Logistics’ position in the US market and enhance its ability to provide comprehensive solutions for global supply chains.
