Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, held a bilateral meeting with UK Member of Parliament and Minister for Aviation, Maritime and Decarbonisation, Kerrin Macr. During the talks, the parties focused on the restoration of Ukraine’s road, maritime, aviation, and railway infrastructure, as well as the country’s needs within the framework of the Infrastructure Taskforce and the potential implementation of specific infrastructure projects.
Separately, the discussion addressed the UK’s participation in the Ukraine Transport Support Fund, which the country joined in early 2026 by signing the relevant declaration. The conversation also covered expanding cooperation with UK Export Finance regarding the financing of transport restoration projects, including the maritime and aviation sectors. Priorities identified included fleet modernization, the development of port infrastructure, the implementation of digital and security solutions, and the development of PPP mechanisms within ports. Additionally, issues concerning Ukraine’s aviation industry and regional transport planning were touched upon.
The parties also discussed potential cooperation with British Steel. According to Kuleba, Ukrzaliznytsia requires approximately 60,000 tons of rails annually, and Ukraine is interested in receiving these supplies on a grant basis as part of a partnership with the British side.
