The German logistics group Rhenus and China’s COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Co., Ltd. have entered into a strategic partnership to expand transport and logistics capabilities at the Rhenus Cuxport facility in Cuxhaven. The parties formalized their cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which entails pooling their expertise in project cargo, heavy-lift transport, and specialized logistics.
According to Rhenus, the partnership’s primary goal is to optimize supply chains in Europe and digitally integrate port and maritime processes. COSCO SHIPPING will contribute its fleet of over 200 specialized vessels to the project, thereby enhancing capabilities for handling non-standard and oversized cargo.
For its part, Rhenus will provide logistics infrastructure in Cuxhaven, including terminals, warehouse space, and transport connections for both domestic and international routes. The companies anticipate that this initiative will transform the facility into a key multifunctional hub for project logistics in Germany.
