Ukrainian seaports have handled 40 million tonnes of cargo since the beginning of 2026.

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian seaports have handled 40 million tons of cargo, despite ongoing military threats and attacks by Russia. Agricultural products accounted for more than half of this volume – over 20 million tons – playing a key role in ensuring food security for dozens of countries worldwide.

The port sector continues to operate under extremely difficult conditions. Since the start of the year alone, the Russian army has attacked Ukrainian ports with more than 1,500 strike drones. Since the full-scale invasion began, 966 port infrastructure facilities and over 200 civilian vessels have been damaged or destroyed.

Attacks on port facilities have resulted in 257 civilian casualties, including fatalities. Despite this, the Ukrainian maritime corridor continues to operate, ensuring stable product exports and supporting the national economy. Authorities emphasize that the ports remain strategically important for global logistics and food supply chains.
