Effective May 21, 2026, WEC Lines is launching a new weekly rail service in Spain, connecting Agoncillo and Zaragoza with Barcelona. This new route forms part of the company’s intermodal network and strengthens its link with the ESC maritime service, which serves the Canary Islands.
Transport operations are carried out using WEC Lines’ own dedicated trains, enabling the company to offer clients a comprehensive door-to-door solution between mainland Spain and the Canary Islands. The combination of rail and short-sea connections ensures a fixed schedule, reliable transit times, and a more environmentally friendly alternative to road transport.
The company noted that integrating this new rail link into the ESC network enhances the flexibility and efficiency of logistics chains in both southbound and northbound directions. The new service is also expected to bolster WEC Lines’ position within Spain’s intermodal transport market.
