KTZ and Turkish TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. join forces to develop the Middle Corridor.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy signed a cooperation agreement with the Turkish railway operator TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş. during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkey. The document is aimed at expanding freight traffic along the Middle Corridor route and provides for the creation of regular rail service between the two countries.

WECO Rail shifts intermodal shuttle operations to duisport.

WECO Rail has announced the relocation of its intermodal shuttle service from Neuss to Duisport, strengthening its connection between the Ruhr area and Austria. The service, operated in partnership with parent company WENZEL Logistics, links the German industrial hub with Upper Austria (Wels) and southern Austria (Graz region).

JSC Passenger Transportation is expanding its route network and updating its rolling stock.

The railway industry of Kazakhstan demonstrates steady growth: today there are 154 passenger routes in the country, 112 of which are served by JSC Passenger Transportation. The remaining routes are distributed between private operators (30 routes) and international routes (12 routes). In the first six months of 2025, 9.5 million passengers were transported by rail. As part of the rolling stock renewal since the beginning of the year, the fleet has been replenished with 60 new cars.

Neptune Logistics expands presence in Europe: first e-commerce train from China arrives in Budapest.

On June 24, 2025, the first China-Europe Railway Express freight train from Shenzhen Pinghu South to Budapest, organized for cross-border e-commerce, was ceremoniously welcomed at the Mahart Container Center (MCC) terminal in Budapest. Its arrival was a landmark event for the development of a stable and efficient logistics corridor between China and Europe. The ceremony was attended by representatives of CRCT Europe Logistics, Sinotrans South China and Neptune Logistics Group, as well as leading logistics companies in Hungary.

The Port of Gdansk offers for lease a strategic site next to the largest container terminal in the Baltic.

The Port of Gdansk Authority has announced a tender for the lease of an investment plot of 3.3 hectares located at Kontenerowa Street, close to the Baltic Hub container terminal, the largest in the Baltic. The plot is fully prepared for operations: reinforced concrete slabs have been laid on a compacted base, which allows for operations to begin without significant initial investments.

KTZ Express presented the Aktau container hub as a reference point for the Middle Corridor.

On July 28, 2025, on the air of the Magistral-Live program, Managing Director for New Projects and Marketing of KTZ Express JSC Aidana Mukhamedieva spoke about the development of the international container hub in Aktau, a key element of the Middle Corridor. The new hub is already changing the face of the Trans-Caspian route and strengthening Kazakhstan’s role in multimodal logistics.

Neptune Logistics sees a pick-up in container traffic through the Suez Canal.

Over the past two months, 10 large container ships have passed through the Suez Canal, indicating a revival of traffic amid the 15% discount on transit fees for vessels with a displacement of 130,000 tonnes or more introduced by the Suez Canal. These measures, introduced in May for three months, are aimed at returning cargo flows that had previously gone via alternative routes. Among those that passed were six CMA CGM vessels and four MSC vessels.

Neptune Logistics: New opportunities in Europe thanks to large-scale EU funding.

The European Commission has approved almost €2.8 billion in funding for 94 transport projects under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, which focuses on upgrading rail infrastructure in EU Member States. Neptune Logistics, which is actively expanding its activities in Europe, views the newly opened investment flows as strategic opportunities to develop its own multimodal services and logistics network.
