Glasgow Prestwick Airport has launched a direct air cargo service to Shanghai Pudong Airport, thereby strengthening its transport network serving China. The route is operated by Air China Cargo, which is rerouting three of its four weekly flights from Guangzhou Baiyun to Shanghai, making the Chinese route more concentrated and efficient for cargo flows.
A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced the launch of a new ocean service, FI2, which will connect countries in the Far East of Asia with the Indian subcontinent. The first westbound voyage is scheduled to depart from Shanghai on June 4, 2026. This new route was established in response to growing customer demand for additional capacity on the China–India trade lane and will ensure faster, more regular shipments between the region’s key manufacturing and trading hubs.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (FTIA) has signed an agreement worth €18 million with the Pohjantähti consortium – comprising the companies AFRY and Sweco – to carry out design work as part of the Rail Nordica initiative. The German railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB) has commenced construction of a new freight train line between Offenburg and Müllheim in the Markgräflerland region. This project is part of the modernization of the Karlsruhe–Basel section and forms a segment of the European Rotterdam–Genoa freight corridor. Two additional tracks will be laid alongside the A5 motorway; consequently, the Rhine Valley Railway will feature four tracks in the future, thereby enabling an increase in train traffic volume.
Logistics operator DACHSER has commenced construction of a new terminal for handling industrial and consumer goods within an industrial park located north of Memmingen. The project, valued at approximately 30 million euros, is being developed on an 8-hectare site and is scheduled for completion by the spring of 2027. The new facility will become an integral part of the company’s European logistics network, providing enhanced capabilities for freight transport between the Allgäu region and international markets.
The Barcelona Port Authority has announced a tender for the construction of a new transport interchange valued at over €98 million. The project aims to improve transport accessibility to the southern section of the port and integrate new access routes into the existing road network. The decision to launch the tender was made by the Port’s Board of Directors as part of a program for the further expansion of port infrastructure.
