At the end of July and beginning of August, the ports of Riga began to receive and load local grain of the new harvest, the terminal management reports. DB Cargo, a freight operator of the German railways (DB), has implemented a technology for monitoring the condition of wagons using artificial intelligence at eight large marshalling yards. The Dutch cargo vessel Eems Traveller (owned by Amasus) arrived at the Überseebrücke quay in Hamburg on 3 and 4 September. Two 17-metre eSAIL sails from bound4blue are installed on board, demonstrating how wind can be used to reduce costs and emissions, while also meeting new environmental standards.
Liège International Airport and terminal operator Liège Logistics Intermodal (LLI) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at creating a major multimodal hub in the Liège area. The project will be based on the modernization and expansion of the existing road and rail terminal owned by the SPI Economic Development Agency.
The press conference held at the headquarters of ZMPSiŚ SA discussed plans for the construction of the Deep-Sea Container Terminal in Świnoujście. The event was attended by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marczewka, the President of ZMPSiŚ Jarosław Sierzej, the Vice President for Investments Krzysztof Sadowski and the Commissioner for Port Development Rafał Zahorski. One of the key issues was the discussion of the final decision on the choice of the location of the terminal and interaction with the local community.
Over the past three months, more than 1,700 freight trains have been running on the China-Europe route every month. In July, the number of trains reached 1,776, transporting 185,000 TEUs.
Hupac is increasing the frequency of its intermodal services between Antwerp and Spain from 16 September. The number of departures will now increase from 5 to 10 per week, significantly expanding transport options for customers.
