KTZ increased its transportation volumes: in 11 months of 2025, almost 288 million tons of cargo were transported.

According to JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, 287.8 million tons of cargo were transported across the company’s network from January to November 2025, an increase of 11.5 million tons (+4%) compared to the same period last year. Export rail shipments increased to 80.2 million tons, an increase of 4.9 million tons (+6%). Significant growth was recorded in the coal segment: shipments reached 31.2 million tons (+8%), thanks to increased shipments to the EU, and Central Asia.

Georgian Industrial Group will launch regular ferry service from Kuryk to Alyat across the Caspian Sea in 2026.

Georgian Industrial Group announced plans to launch two sea ferries on the Kuryk (Kazakhstan) – Alyat (Azerbaijan) route in the first half of 2026. The project aims to establish regular transport links across the Caspian Sea and increase cargo traffic along a key link in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

Maersk continues to strengthen safety controls and update regulatory processes in Europe.

Maersk announced that it is closely monitoring the situation surrounding the possible resumption of transit through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal amid progress in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, emphasizing the priority of the safety of crews, fleet, and cargo. The company also reminded customers of key changes: the Emergency Contingency Surcharge for shipments from Oceania to Europe will end on December 15, 2025, and updated demurrage and detention rates in the Baltic and Scandinavian countries will come into effect on January 1, 2026.

The Eurasian Development Bank and Eurasian Logistics Park opened the largest Class A warehouse complex in Kazakhstan.

In Almaty, the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and Eurasian Logistics Park (ELP) launched one of the country’s largest international Class A warehouse complexes, covering over 50,000 square meters. The facility is located at the strategic intersection of the Western China – Western Europe corridor and will become an important hub for e-commerce and international trade. The project was implemented with the support of the EDB, which invested 16.6 billion tenge as part of its strategy to build a modern Eurasian commodity distribution network.

The Baku Association of the Eurasian Transport Route has approved plans for the corridor’s development.

A meeting of the General Assembly of the Founders of the International Association of the Eurasian Transport Route was held in Baku, chaired by Azerbaijan. The meeting was attended by the heads of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Rovshan Rustamov, head of Azerbaijan Railways, announced that the legal registration of the association, headquartered in Baku, had been fully completed, and its establishment opens new opportunities for the development of the southern branch of the Middle Corridor and strengthens Azerbaijan’s role as a key transit bridge between Central Asia and Europe.
