CEVA Logistics has introduced a new “Mass Balance” solution in Europe, aimed at decarbonizing the road transport sector and supporting customers in their transition to more sustainable logistics practices. The new service enables customers to reap the environmental benefits of using low-carbon energy sources, ensuring a transparent and consistent approach across all European routes.
As part of the BALTEXPO 2025 international exhibition, a working visit was made by a delegation from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) and the Odesa branch of the USPA to the Port of Gdansk (Poland). South Korean shipping company HMM has announced the launch of a large-scale investment program to modernize its fleet. According to a company filing, the company plans to build 12 container ships with a capacity of 13,000 TEU each and two VLCC oil tankers. The project has already been approved by all four members of HMM’s board of directors.
Rail operator ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has officially received a unified safety certificate from the European Railway Agency (ERA) for the Netherlands, Belgium, and the German border region, marking the start of the company’s own operations in Belgium. The document confirms RCG’s full compliance with all legal and operational requirements for freight transport safety and expands the group’s capabilities in Western Europe.

A new logistics partnership between Rail Cargo Operator–Hungaria, Acemil Holding Zrt., and China’s Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd. aims to expand international freight connections and value-added services. The agreement was signed in Budapest on October 15, 2025, with senior representatives from all three companies and officials from both countries present.
Starting October 17, 2025, WEC Lines, in partnership with Tailwind Shipping Lines, will launch the NWC CAS service, providing weekly service between the ports of Moerdijk, Antwerp, Setúbal, Cádiz, and Casablanca.
The Port of Rotterdam Authority, in partnership with ProRail and Swietelsky Rail Benelux, officially launched construction of the new Maasvlakte Zuid (EMZ) freight station. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the City of Rotterdam, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and the European Parliament. The first phase of the project involves the construction of six tracks, each designed for 740-meter-long trains, and their connection to the existing rail network. Commissioning of the first phase is scheduled for mid-2027.
