AMPU and the Port of Gdansk strengthen cooperation at the BALTEXPO 2025 exhibition.

As part of the BALTEXPO 2025 international exhibition, a working visit was made by a delegation from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) and the Odesa branch of the USPA to the Port of Gdansk (Poland). The Ukrainian delegation learned about the operations of one of the most dynamically developing ports in the EU, visited the waters and infrastructure facilities, including the Baltic Hub container terminal, which is expanding to a throughput capacity of 4.5 million TEUs.

HMM to invest $2.82 billion in fleet renewal by 2029.

South Korean shipping company HMM has announced the launch of a large-scale investment program to modernize its fleet. According to a company filing, the company plans to build 12 container ships with a capacity of 13,000 TEU each and two VLCC oil tankers. The project has already been approved by all four members of HMM’s board of directors.

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group enters the Belgian market with a new EU safety certificate.

Rail operator ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has officially received a unified safety certificate from the European Railway Agency (ERA) for the Netherlands, Belgium, and the German border region, marking the start of the company’s own operations in Belgium. The document confirms RCG’s full compliance with all legal and operational requirements for freight transport safety and expands the group’s capabilities in Western Europe.

Kazakhstan’s Caspian ports are becoming strategic hubs for international routes.

The Caspian Sea is strengthening Kazakhstan’s role in global logistics, with the seaports of Aktau, Kuryk, and the Northern Terminal becoming key hubs linking Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. According to Dauren Kutpanbayev, Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Aktau International Sea Trade Port, ports today are more than just berths, but strategic points of synchronization between the sea, rail, and merchant fleet, ensuring the stability and efficiency of transportation.

Альянс аэропортов Aviator продлил партнерство с Finnair на зимний сезон 2025–2028 годов.

Aviator Airport Alliance, крупнейший независимый поставщик услуг наземного обслуживания в Северной Европе, продлил соглашение с финской авиакомпанией Finnair. В рамках контракта её дочерняя компания, Aviator Airport Services Finland, продолжит предоставлять услуги по противообледенительной обработке и зимнему обслуживанию в аэропорту Хельсинки (HEL) в сезонах 2025–2028 годов. Aviator входит в Avia Solutions Group, крупнейшего в мире поставщика услуг ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance).

Hungary and China strengthen logistics partnership.

A new logistics partnership between Rail Cargo Operator–Hungaria, Acemil Holding Zrt., and China’s Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd. aims to expand international freight connections and value-added services. The agreement was signed in Budapest on October 15, 2025, with senior representatives from all three companies and officials from both countries present.

Construction of the new Maasvlakte Zuid railway station has begun in the Port of Rotterdam.

The Port of Rotterdam Authority, in partnership with ProRail and Swietelsky Rail Benelux, officially launched construction of the new Maasvlakte Zuid (EMZ) freight station. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the City of Rotterdam, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, and the European Parliament. The first phase of the project involves the construction of six tracks, each designed for 740-meter-long trains, and their connection to the existing rail network. Commissioning of the first phase is scheduled for mid-2027.
