DB Cargo Polska and Alstom will establish a modern locomotive service centre in Rybnik.

DB Cargo Polska signed a joint letter of intent with Alstom to establish a new locomotive service center in Rybnik. The center will complement Alstom’s existing facilities in Toruń and will enable efficient maintenance and repair of Traxx locomotives, as well as other diesel and electric models. According to Marek Staszek, CEO of DB Cargo Polska, the project demonstrates the strengthening of international cooperation and Poland’s growing role on the European railway map.

Kazakhstan and China are developing grain and feed exports.

JSC National Company Food Contract Corporation and China’s Shandong Hi-Speed ​​Qilu Eurasia Railway Express Co. Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing the supply of grain, feed, and oilseed crops from Kazakhstan to China. The parties agreed to develop exports, including through contract farming, whereby crops are purchased from farmers during the sowing season.

Kazakhstan’s Caspian ports are becoming strategic hubs for international routes.

The Caspian Sea is strengthening Kazakhstan’s role in global logistics, with the seaports of Aktau, Kuryk, and the Northern Terminal becoming key hubs linking Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. According to Dauren Kutpanbayev, Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Aktau International Sea Trade Port, ports today are more than just berths, but strategic points of synchronization between the sea, rail, and merchant fleet, ensuring the stability and efficiency of transportation.

Hungary and China strengthen logistics partnership.

A new logistics partnership between Rail Cargo Operator–Hungaria, Acemil Holding Zrt., and China’s Taitong International Transport Co., Ltd. aims to expand international freight connections and value-added services. The agreement was signed in Budapest on October 15, 2025, with senior representatives from all three companies and officials from both countries present.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy has completed the main stage of construction of second tracks on the strategic Dostyk-Moiynty section, marking a significant step in strengthening the country’s transit potential. The new railway corridor connects East and West, creating additional opportunities for increasing freight traffic, removing infrastructure constraints, and enhancing Kazakhstan’s competitiveness as a key logistics hub in Eurasia.

KTZ is shaping the future of Kazakhstan’s railway industry.

JSC NC KTZ is actively transforming its HR and operational policies in response to global changes in the transportation and logistics industry. Over the past five years, transit traffic has grown by 35%, while container traffic has increased fivefold. As part of these structural changes, the regional branches of KTZ – Freight Transportation LLC have been integrated into the Main Network Directorate, which has grown to 57,000 employees. A new branch, the Transportation Process Directorate, has been created, uniting wagon depots and dispatch centers.
