KTZ Express organized a pilot export shipment of Kazakhstani broken rice to the Port of Antwerp (Belgium) via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The shipment was carried out multimodally, using rail infrastructure and shipping lines across the Caspian and Black Seas, enabling the testing of an alternative logistics scheme for deliveries to Europe.
Logistics and shipping company CLdN announced an agreement with multimodal operator Samskip to acquire its container and door-to-door business between continental Europe, the UK, and Ireland. The deal covers services connecting Rotterdam with key UK and Irish ports, handling over 1,000 vessel calls annually, as well as cargo transportation for a wide range of customers, including consumer goods manufacturers. As part of the transaction, CLdN will receive lease agreements for over 5,000 multimodal units – containers of various types, including refrigerated containers and specialized flatcars.
Kombiverkehr has launched a pilot intermodal transport with Transcoop09 and Focko Lüpsen & Sohn – Logistics Solutions. The test shipment is moving by rail for the first time between Dörpen and Ludwigshafen.
On February 16, Yerlan Khamardinovich Koyshibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, introduced Yerlan Talgatuly Nykhmetov, the new General Director, to the staff of Kuryk Port LLP. The freight division of KTZ Express, together with Georgian Railways and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan, have completed the main stage of digitalizing freight transportation between the countries. The project was launched in August 2025 to develop the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and in October, the heads of the railway administrations of the three countries approved a joint action plan in Almaty.
Representatives of Ukraine, the European Commission, Romania, and Moldova held another QUAD meeting to discuss the situation in the maritime industry and the Danube region. The discussion focused on the impact of Russian aggression on port infrastructure, restrictions on access to transport routes, energy challenges, and joint coordination of further actions to maintain logistics stability, according to Andriy Kashuba, Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, held a working meeting with Kaido Zimmermann, Head of Estonian Railways, during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics. The focus was on integrating railway networks to more efficiently organize freight flows between Central Asia and European markets.
