Ukraine and Morocco have opened up new opportunities for road transport.

On June 28, 2025, Ukraine and Morocco signed an agreement on international road transport, which for the first time secured direct transport links between the two countries. The document was concluded during the global transport forum in Turkey and provides for a simplified procedure for cargo and passenger flights, including direct and transit transportation.

JSC Kedentransservice and JSC OʻZTEMIRYOLKONTEYNER (Uzbekistan) discussed joint steps to develop container transportation on key routes. The negotiations were aimed at finding new solutions to improve logistics efficiency and strengthen the companies’ positions in international transport corridors.

DP World strengthens position in Africa through partnership with Japan’s ITOCHU.

DP World has signed a memorandum of understanding with ITOCHU, one of Japan’s largest trading corporations, to jointly develop logistics, supply chain infrastructure and distribution in sub-Saharan Africa. The agreement was signed during the TICAD9 conference in Yokohama with the participation of DP World’s Chief Operating Officer for Logistics, Beat Simon, and ITOCHU’s top managers.

Hitachi Rail unveils digital platform to speed up intermodal transport in Germany.

Hitachi Rail, together with MT Logistics and DB Cargo, launched the digital platform InGa-Z, created within the framework of the joint venture Protostellar with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Transport. The solution is part of the “Future of Rail Freight” program and combines a terminal operating system with mobile applications, which makes freight terminal operations faster and easier.

Kazakhstan Temir Zholy discussed the growth of transportation and new projects with the largest shippers.

JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy held a meeting with the participation of the country’s leading industrial companies, including Bogatyr Komir, ERG, Zhairemsky GOK, Shubarkol Komir, Qarmet, Kazphosphate and other partners. The participants summed up the work results for the first half of 2025 and discussed future plans.

The Port of Klaipeda will become the operator of the berth in Jurbarkas for the development of an inland cargo port.

Klaipeda Port Authority and Jurbarkas District Municipality have signed an agreement under which the Authority will become the operator of one of the berths on the Nemunas. This step paves the way for the development of an inland cargo port in Jurbarkas, which will allow river shipping to be used as a strategically important and environmentally friendly alternative for cargo transportation in Lithuania.

The first container train from Chengdu to Antwerp will transit through Kazakhstan.

The first direct container train has been sent from Chengdu, China, to Antwerp, Belgium, which will transit through Kazakhstan. The specialized DPD train for La Poste includes 55 containers with cross-border e-commerce goods and products requiring cold chain compliance. The route runs through the Altynkol checkpoint, then the train will pass through Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany.

The Port of Gdansk has received a direct container connection with the USA.

The Port of Gdansk has joined the ranks of European ports with direct container service to the United States. Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), the world’s largest shipping operator with a fleet of over 850 vessels, has included Gdansk in the route of its Albatros line with regular calls to New York and Charleston. The first voyage on the new schedule was the MSC BERANGERE from Gdansk on August 14. The delivery time is 13 days to New York and 17 days to Charleston.

Два крупных железнодорожных проекта в Казахстане завершаются с опережением графика.

В 2025 году в Казахстане досрочно будут завершены два масштабных железнодорожных проекта: участок Достык–Мойынты и Алматинская объездная линия. Об этом сообщил министр транспорта Нурлан Сауранбаев на заседании правительства, подчеркнув, что эти проекты значительно увеличат пропускную способность сети и укрепят транзитный потенциал страны.

Глава КТЖ обсудил в Баку развитие Среднего коридора.

Председатель правления АО «НК «Қазақстан темір жолы» Талгат Алдыбергенов в ходе своего визита в Баку встретился с министром цифрового развития и транспорта Азербайджана Рашадом Набиевым. Во встрече также приняли участие советник президента Казахстана Асель Жанасова, председатель Комитета железнодорожного и водного транспорта Жанибек Тайжанов, руководители «Азербайджанских железных дорог» и «Грузинских железных дорог». Стороны обсудили вопросы развития Среднего коридора, цифровизации логистики и реализации дорожной карты по устранению узких мест.
