Hitachi Rail and Malaysia’s public transport operator Prasarana are advancing their long-term cooperation through a new Industrial Collaboration Program linked to the Kelana Jaya Line automatic signalling project. The programme is designed to support technology transfer, local industry development and workforce skills growth in Malaysia’s rail sector, in line with national industrial collaboration policy.
The Port of Alicante closed 2025 with total traffic of 2.9m tonnes, down 6.9% year on year, as lower demand for aggregates reduced solid bulk volumes, according to the Port Authority of Alicante.
LTG Infra, the LTG Group company responsible for implementing the international Rail Baltica project in Lithuania, held a meeting with the management of Italy’s Rizzani de Eccher, the general contractor for the railway bridge across the Neris River. According to Vytis Žalimas, CEO of LTG Infra, the company has been closely monitoring both the project’s progress and the contractor’s financial situation, particularly since 2023, when the first public reports of Rizzani de Eccher’s restructuring emerged. LTG Infra is engaging in dialogue to ensure the continuity of work and reduce tensions among project participants, including by exploring legal mechanisms for direct payments to subcontractors, if necessary.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, 322.2 million tons of freight were transported by all modes of transport in Ukraine in 2025, a 9% decrease compared to 2024. This was reported by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. The decrease was recorded across key modes of transport, reflecting the overall slowdown in the freight market.
American logistics company XPO (NYSE: XPO) published financial results for the fourth quarter of 2025, ending the year with revenue growth and improved key operating metrics. Quarterly revenue reached $2.01 billion, compared to $1.92 billion in the previous year. Diluted earnings per share were $0.50, compared to $0.63 in the fourth quarter of 2024, and adjusted diluted earnings were $0.88, compared to $0.89. Operating profit decreased to $143 million (year-earlier – $148 million), net profit – to $59 million ($76 million a year ago), which is due, among other things, to a decrease in real estate revenue by $21 million and an increase in restructuring expenses by $23 million. At the same time, adjusted EBITDA increased to $312 million, compared to $303 million in the previous year. XPO generated $226 million in operating cash flow during the quarter and ended the year with $310 million in cash on the balance sheet.
During the state visit of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a number of intergovernmental documents were signed aimed at expanding cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. Specifically, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan and the Federal Ministry of Maritime Affairs of Pakistan, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding with the Federal Ministry of Railways of Pakistan. Furthermore, a cooperation agreement was signed between the ports of Aktau and Karachi on information exchange and professional development.
The Port of Rotterdam recorded liquefied natural gas bunkering volumes exceeding 1 million m³ for the first time, with bio-LNG accounting for a significant portion at 17,644 m³. Compared to 2024, when bio-LNG volumes were 2,775 m³, this figure has increased more than sixfold. Biomethanol bunkering also demonstrated significant growth: in 2025, vessels received 11,819 tons of this fuel, compared to 3,946 tons the year before.
The dry port has become one of the key transshipment hubs in the cross-border transportation system between China, Europe, and Central Asian countries. Implemented as the second joint Chinese-Kazakh logistics project after the Lianyungang base, it plays a strategic role in the development of Eurasian transport corridors.
Mibau Stema Group, a supplier of aggregates to the European construction and infrastructure sectors, is developing its own terminal project, covering approximately 5 hectares, in the Afrikahaven area of the Port of Amsterdam. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of the second quarter or beginning of the third quarter of 2026.
On February 1, 2026, Rhenus Group completed the acquisition of all remaining shares in Grupo Totalmédia, becoming the sole owner of the company. The deal marked the final stage of the transformation, which began with the acquisition of a stake in early 2023 and culminated in the rebranding to Rhenus Logistics on February 1, 2025.
