Since the Ukrainian maritime corridor began operations in September 2023, 200 million tons of cargo have been transported through the country’s seaports, with agricultural products accounting for 118 million tons. Over this period, more than 7,800 vessels have been handled, enabling the continued export of Ukrainian goods to global markets despite wartime risks and constant attacks on infrastructure.

Maersk reports that the situation in the Middle East remains unpredictable; despite reports of Iran and the US moving closer to a potential peace agreement, attacks in the region continue, and shipping conditions in the Strait of Hormuz show no significant improvement. Maersk emphasizes that the safety of crews, vessels, and customer cargo remains the priority, and operations are therefore being conducted with enhanced precautionary measures.

Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) readiness to acquire a 51% stake in the TIS container terminal demonstrates that major international players believe in Ukraine’s post-war recovery and future operational viability. This was stated by Andrey Stavnitser, co-owner of the TIS Group, during the annual Grain Ukraine 2026 conference held in Kyiv.

The Dutch company Gaston Schul has strengthened its European growth strategy by acquiring Parodi Forwarding S.r.l. in Italy and Markart & Schmid Zollservice OG in Austria. These transactions aim to enhance expertise in customs and trade services and expand the client base across key European logistics corridors.

Ukrzaliznytsia ended the first quarter of 2026 with a net loss of UAH 7.9 billion. The company noted that the period was challenging due to large-scale attacks on infrastructure: 541 strikes on the railway system and rolling stock were recorded over the three months – nearly half the total number of attacks seen in 2025. As a result, 1,718 infrastructure facilities were damaged, and 28 railway workers were injured while performing their duties.

Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) and Imetame Group have officially finalized the deal to form a joint venture, Hanseatic Global Terminals Aracruz S.A., having secured all necessary regulatory approvals for the acquisition of a 50% stake in the project. This agreement builds upon arrangements reached in December 2025 and solidifies the partnership between the parties to develop a new container terminal at the Brazilian port of Aracruz, in the state of Espírito Santo.

GEODIS has announced the launch of its first multi-functional port hub in Le Havre, France. Located within the country’s largest container port, the new facility is designed to provide customers with comprehensive, door-to-door service for import and export operations. The opening of the center is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its presence at key French logistics hubs.
