Polish authorities have unveiled the first comprehensive strategy for developing the railway network, which entails the construction of approximately 4,700 km of new lines. Of these, roughly 2,700 km will meet high-speed rail standards. The plan also includes the creation of 19 strategic transport corridors and the provision of rail access to 27 small and medium-sized towns. Implementation will take place under the “Port Polska” program, involving the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) entity and the infrastructure operator PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe.

At the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026, Ukraine signed a series of agreements with the European Investment Bank and the European Commission that will unlock over €470 million in funding to restore critical infrastructure and stimulate the economy. This was announced by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development.

ÖBB Rail Cargo Group has announced a significant reduction in transit times on the TransFER Budapest–Balkans route following the reopening of the Kelebia–Subotica rail border crossing between Hungary and Serbia. This section – a key link for freight transport connecting Budapest with the Balkans and Southeast Europe – resumed operations in late February after the completion of a multi-year modernization project on the Budapest–Kelebia–Belgrade line.

Customs Support Group has completed its entry into the Austrian market by acquiring Trovino GmbH, a company specializing in customs clearance and air freight operations at Vienna Airport. During a meeting in Astana, President Jakov Milatović and Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov discussed prospects for integrating the Montenegrin port of Bar into the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). The German logistics group Geis has announced that, effective July 1, 2026, all operating companies of the former Gras Group will operate under the unified Geis brand. This decision is part of the ongoing integration of assets acquired eighteen months ago and aims to establish a unified corporate structure while enhancing the company’s market visibility.

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrainian seaports have handled 40 million tons of cargo, despite ongoing military threats and attacks by Russia. Agricultural products accounted for more than half of this volume – over 20 million tons – playing a key role in ensuring food security for dozens of countries worldwide.

LTG Infra, the Lithuanian company responsible for the LTG Group’s railway infrastructure, has decided to terminate its contract with general contractor Rizzani de Eccher for the construction of the Rail Baltica bridge over the Neris River. This decision follows a comprehensive assessment of work progress, the contractor’s financial health, and its fulfillment of contractual obligations. The company emphasized that resuming construction is a priority to ensure the strategic project remains on schedule.
